1. Who We Are

SpeedHost Labs is an independent website performance and hosting guidance service operated by Brittney Brown (“SpeedHost Labs,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you visit https://labs.speedhost.net/ or use its tools.

2. Information We Process

We may process the following limited information:

• Speed-test submissions. When you choose to run a speed test, your browser sends the public URL directly to the Google PageSpeed Insights API. Google returns the result directly to your browser. SpeedHost Labs does not receive or store the submitted URL or test result through this website.
• Messages you send us. If you contact us by email, telephone, or mail, we receive the information you choose to provide, such as your name, contact details, and message.
• Basic technical information. Our hosting, content-delivery, or security providers may automatically process standard request data, such as IP address, browser and device type, requested page, referring page, and date and time. This information may appear in short-term server or security logs.

We do not offer user accounts and do not intentionally collect payment information through this website. Hosting Fit Finder answers are processed in your browser and are not submitted to SpeedHost Labs.

3. Google PageSpeed Insights

A speed test is initiated only when you submit a URL. The submitted URL is transmitted directly from your browser to and processed by the Google PageSpeed Insights API. As part of that request, Google may also receive standard request information such as your IP address, browser details, and request time. Google handles information under its own Privacy Policy and applicable terms.

Submit only public URLs that you are authorized to test. Do not submit private, internal, password-protected, or confidential URLs, or URLs containing API keys, access tokens, passwords, session identifiers, personal information, or other secrets. Information embedded in a URL may be visible to Google and relevant infrastructure providers.

4. Cookies and Analytics

SpeedHost Labs does not use advertising cookies or analytics cookies by default. We do not use behavioral advertising or intentionally track visitors across unrelated websites.

Our hosting, security, or content-delivery providers may use strictly necessary cookies or similar technologies when required to deliver, protect, or operate the website. If we later add analytics, advertising, or other non-essential tracking, we will update this Policy and provide any notice or choices required by applicable law.

Because we do not currently conduct cross-site behavioral tracking, browser “Do Not Track” signals do not change how the website operates. Where technically applicable, we will also respect legally required opt-out signals.

5. How We Use Information

We use information to:

• provide the browser interface that initiates requested PageSpeed tests without receiving the submitted URL or result;
• operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the website;
• detect abuse, excessive requests, fraud, or technical attacks;
• answer questions and provide support;
• comply with legal obligations and protect our rights and users.

6. How We Disclose Information

When you initiate a test, your browser sends the URL directly to Google; SpeedHost Labs does not first receive and then disclose that URL. Other limited information may be disclosed:

• to hosting, content-delivery, security, email, and other service providers that help us operate the website;
• when required by law, legal process, or a valid government request;
• when reasonably necessary to protect the rights, safety, or security of SpeedHost Labs, our users, or others;
• in connection with a merger, sale, reorganization, or transfer of the website or its assets.

We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

7. Retention

SpeedHost Labs does not store submitted speed-test URLs or results through this website. Google’s handling and retention of PageSpeed requests are governed by its policies. We retain other information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described above. Technical logs are generally kept for a limited period unless longer retention is necessary for security, legal compliance, or investigation. Correspondence may be retained while a request is active and afterward when reasonably necessary for business or legal records.

8. Your Privacy Choices and Rights

Depending on where you live, applicable law may give you rights to request access to, correction of, or deletion of certain personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing.

To make a request, email support@labs.speedhost.net. We may need to verify your identity and may retain information when permitted or required by law. We do not discriminate against anyone for exercising an applicable privacy right.

You may avoid transmitting a URL to Google by not using the speed-test tool.

9. Data Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to the limited information we process. No internet transmission, API, or storage system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Children’s Privacy

The website is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.

11. Third-Party Websites

The website may link to hosting providers and other third parties. Their websites, services, cookies, and privacy practices are controlled by them, not by SpeedHost Labs. Review their policies before providing information.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the website and applicable requirements change. The revised version will be posted here with a new effective date. Material changes may also be highlighted on the website.
